Warren MacDonald knows adversity. He's faced his fair share of challenges, and is usually presented with a new one each day. But he refuses to be held back, focussing on his ability rather than his disability. It has made him an expert in Change Management.

April 1977 redefined life’s boundaries for Warren. At 31 years of age, he spent two days alone pinned under a one-ton boulder after a freak rock fall on Hinchinbrook Island in Northern Queensland, Australia. He survived, only to undergo the amputation of both legs at mid thigh... Just ten months later he did more with less, successfully summiting first Cradle Mountain then Federation Peak, Australia’s toughest mountain summit!

Warren’s expeditions have taken him around the globe. In February 2003, he became the first double above-knee amputee to reach the summit of Africa’s tallest peak, Mt Kilimanjaro. These expeditions would not be possible without the support of a team. The power of leading and managing teams in the mountains, against constant uncertainty yet maintaining focus on the goal, is something Warren breathes. He recognises change as a process, not an end result. His ability to manage transition, to create opportunity from any situation sees him increasingly in demand as a speaker and corporate motivator.

Warren delivers a strong, matter-of-fact message that has been called a wake up call for those feeling beaten, helping us put difficulties into perspective by showing us that the key to positive change is within us all, if we want to find it.
