Sharon Kenny’s story is compelling and inspirational; raised in one of the toughest neighbourhoods in New Zealand and now renown as the ‘Franchise Queen’ and ‘Serial Entrepreneur’ having founded 3 of New Zealand’s most successful franchise companies; Green Acres, At Your Request and Beauty On Demand, Sharon will share her journey from cruelty and heartbreak to success and happiness.
She speaks about the trials and tribulations of starting a business from scratch, creating a market, developing a brand, overcoming hard knocks and digging deep for self preservation & motivation, including how not to give up even in the face of failure.

Since 1991 Green Acres has grown from a lawn mowing service run by Sharon and her husband to New Zealand's largest franchise company. Providing everything from home cleaning to dog grooming & pet care – as busy, time-poor New Zealanders make the sociological shift from ‘DIY ’ to ‘DIFM ’ (Do It For Me).. Sometimes we assume that success stories start at a very early age but this was not the case with Sharon Kenny. Sharon's early life was filled with turmoil. Prior to starting Green Acres Sharon had become very good at "failing" and wondering where the next dollar was coming from. Today Sharon is acknowledged as one of the most successful franchisors in Australasia, and has more than 20 years experience in owning her own businesses. Her peers respect and recognise her as a pioneer and expert in franchise. She conceived and developed the successful “weekly work guarantee” concept, which has changed the way franchises are operated throughout the world. Sharon delivers in a warm and real way that draws the audience in, touches their hearts and leaves them asking for more.
