Pauline Grogan
Pauline Grogan’s presentations leave a lasting impression as she is inspirational captivating and courageous. With humour and honesty she holds her audiences spellbound as she draws on her life-time of varied experiences. Her stories tell of being challenged by the unexpected. She demonstrates how each challenge called for change and each change in turn led to new opportunities.
Pauline Grogan is a motivational speaker, teacher, mother of 4, author of two published books, marriage and funeral celebrant, playwright, actor and business owner.
After 35 years in education Pauline set up her first business as a motivation speaker. Popular demand led to Pauline developing seminars with small groups of people who want to discover new purpose in their lives.
In her 60th year, this natural born storyteller took to the stage for the first time when her life story premiered as a one Woman Theatre play, "500 Letters." This was funded by the STAMP programme run by the Aotea centre, Auckland.
Her play brought to life stories in her two published books, “Beyond the Veil” and “A View from Within.” In 2005, 2006 and 2008 she performed the play in over 50 centres all over NZ to enthusiastic reviews.
Pauline has contributed to research on “Life after Stroke” for children and young people and to research on the Impact of trauma on families with particular reference to siblings. Pauline also contributes to the community through her teaching and her innovative work creating ceremonies/celebrations that mark the important occasions in life.
In October, 2009 Pauline was invited to a special function attended by North Shore dignitaries and elected representatives where she received the inaugural North Shore Women’s centre, “Woman of the Year” award for her “generosity, strength and valuable contributions to her local community”.
