Nigel Avery
Nigel Avery's smile and the way he held those weights aloft in Manchester said it all – the Gold Medal was his! Nigel won two gold and one silver Commonwealth medal and finally all the hard work over the four years since achieving bronze at Kuala Lumpur in 1998 had paid off.
Nigel is an accomplished athlete who began in track and field, moved on to the bob sled and later to weightlifting. Nigel is also a qualified accountant and he comes from a family that understands success and what it takes to achieve it.
Nigel is married to a fellow athlete – another intriguing challenge requiring understanding, compassion and tolerance.
Nigel draws on his life experiences and sporting career to provide insights into goal setting, planning, team dynamics, support networks, competing, life balance and career planning.
With an interactive presentation, using one or all of three different techniques he has used to succeed, Nigel delivers an entertaining and stimulating presentation.
