Mike Pratt is best known for his “Peak Performance” book and courses, but is also known in academic circles as the past Dean of the Waikato Management School. His latest book investigates models of some of the world’s most sustainable enterprises and makes Mike an expert on the subject.

In 2008 Mike is due to release another book based on in-depth research with 10 of the world biggest sustainable enterprises, such as the Body Shop. Mike has researched corporate sustainability and can present ways to implement sustainability models and illustrate how to create value from sustainability. Mike is a former member of the board of Sustainable Network Interests in New Zealand. It is a topic close to his heart and more and more in demand by corporate organisations.

Because of Mike’s research for both his books, he has worked with some of the world’s biggest organisations. This has made him an expert at forecasting and applying global and consumer trends.

In 2002 Mike co-authored the best-selling international business book “Peak Performance – Business Lessons from the World’s Top Sports Organizations” with Clive Gilson, Kevin Roberts and Ed Weymes.

The book tells the stories of ten worldwide sporting organisations that have experienced unparalleled long-term success. It is the result of in-depth interviews with the inspirational players both on and off the field within each organisation and details the consistent concepts that have led to their sustained success. The result is the elite theory of Peak Performing Organisations (PPOs).

Mike joined the University of Waikato in 1990 as Dean of the Waikato Management School, a role he held until the end of 2007. His scholarly interests embrace accountability, organisation theory, leadership, managing change, and the new economy.

Mike’s teaching philosophy emphasises a commitment to high levels of participant interaction, including wherever possible, practical applications of the theories learned within actual organisations. Mike has been consulting regularly to a large range of organisations for the last fifteen years in decision support systems, auditing, leadership, and change management. He has taught on several MBA programmes internationally and delivered management development seminars in a wide range of subjects.

Previous international clients include Proctor & Gamble, Walmart, and Saatchi & Saatchi. New Zealand clients include Meridien Energy, Telecom and Novartis.

Mike is a fascinating presenter who shares his great intelligence in a humourous and entertaining way. His list of topics includes global trends, sustainability, peak performance, creating effective organisations, future trends, leadership, consumer trends, digitisation of the media and many more.
