Mike Munro began his career as a journalist back in the early 70’s as a copy boy on ‘The Australian’ and ‘The Daily Mirror’ newspapers. He completed his cadetship and then remained with the Mirror for seven years.

In 1978, he joined Sydney’s Channel 10 News. Almost a year later he returned to newspapers and was posted to New York by Rupert Murdoch to work in News Limited’s American bureau and The New York Post.Since then, Mike has become a household name in Australia as the feature presenter on such programmes as Willisee, 60 Minutes, A Current Affair and 'This is Your Life'.Mike is known for his upfront interviews with such stars as Madonna, Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler and Katharine Hepburn on '60 Minutes', for his provoking reports for 'A Current Affair' and for the "honest raw emotion" of 'This Is Your Life.'
