Kirsten Hellier
Kirsten Hellier is an award winning Coach of Gold Medallist Valerie Vili and successful athlete in her own right having won several medals including silver at the 1994 Commonwealth Games.
Kirsten has always had a passion for athletics – as an athlete she achieved nine national championship titles in Javelin, and was the first New Zealand Woman to exceed the 50m & 60m mark. She represented New Zealand at World Junior, World Championships, Commonwealth and Olympic Games.
Her highly acclaimed Coaching career started in 1990 when she became self coached and went on to coaching others in throwing events in 1996/97. Kirsten has coached numerous athletes to Olympic and World championship level, the most successful being Valerie Vili who has won every athletic title possible from World Youth to Olympic Games.
In 2007 and 2008 Kirsten received the prestigious Halberg Coach of the year Award – reflecting her talent as a world class coach.
Kirsten is one of the leading professional coaches available to speak at conferences, an authority on goal setting, self leadership, motivation, team work and success. She is both motivational and inspiring!
