Julia Hartley Moore is not only New Zealand & Australia’s most recognized Private Investigator, male or female, but also an author, radio host, media commentator and inspirational and motivational speaker.

Despite having left school at 14, without a formal education and being married and the mother of three children by the age of 16, Julia has not allowed obstacles or setbacks to deter her ambitions in life.

She is the mother of three (3) adult daughters and three (3) teenage grandchildren.

Julia’s life has never been easy, raising three children on her own so when Julia’s second marriage ended in the early 90’s she began a new life, traveled Europe and in London began working for Mohammed Al Fayed at Harrods where she gained some valuable experience that would have a major effect on her future life and in 1994 she returned to New Zealand to put in place the foundations for her now highly successful Investigation business.

However there is far more to Julia than being a Private Investigator:

Business woman:

When those plans finally came to fruition in 1995, Julia became the first woman to own a Private Investigation Company in New Zealand and this without any formal police background. Up to this point the Private Investigation business in New Zealand was male dominated by ex police officers and for a woman let alone one without a police background to open an Investigation Agency caused a major stir. Julia also realized that setting goals and taking opportunities would be important in turning what was a niche market into a business that had international appeal and so when TVNZ came calling with their reality programme ‘Private Investigators’ she against all advice decided to take part despite the fact that the Private Investigator would now be public property. She reinvented her business knowing that the amount of publicity generated would be impossible to buy. Six years on and that publicity is still alive today and not a week goes by without someone phoning to say “I loved your programme and can you help me”. Julia also realized that her knowledge of human nature and the vast amount of cases she had investigated would allow her to expand her brand and business by becoming an author and media consultant and now her Boutique Investigation Agency has seen unprecedented growth. She now works internationally, and throughout New Zealand & Australia with businesses and specialists in the fields of commercial, family court and criminal law.

International Author:

At the same time as Private Investigators hit New Zealands television screens Julia was asked by Penguin Books (NZ) to write a book. So her lack of a formal education was no obstacle and ‘Julia Moore P.I’ published by Penguin Books (NZ) in 2000 was a great success and led to a second book ‘Infidelity – Exploding the Myths’ published by HarperCollins in June of 2004. The international success of ‘Infidelity – Exploding the Myths’ has seen rights sold to USA &Canada where the book is called ‘Infidelity Sleuth’, Brazil, Russia China (Worldwide rights in simple and complex characters), Indonesia, Portugal & Italy.

HarperCollins then commissioned a third book and Julia has written Suddenly Single __to be released in June of 2007. This book is already in the sights of international publishing companies due to Julia’s standing as an International Author and she is following this up with a series of nationwide events for women encouraging them to be the best they can be.

The international and trans Tasman media have taken a high degree of interest in Julia and as well as appearing regularly on New Zealand TV in her series __‘Private Investigators’ and as a panelist for two series of TVNZ’s ‘How’s Life’ there have also been documentaries by “Documentary New Zealand”, “60 Minutes” and “Sunday” and in Australia on “Good Morning Australia”, “Mornings” with Kerri-Anne Kennerly and “Today Tonight’ on Channel 7.

Radio Host & Media Commentator:

Julia’s straight forward ‘tell it like it is’ approach is seen as a breath of fresh air in today’s politically correct environment. She recently signed a contract with ‘__Radio Live’ as host of her own talkback radio show.

This approach and her success as an international Author has found her sought after by worldwide media for internet ‘Pod Casts’and web site articles. She is a regular columnist for women’s magazines and as a panelist and studio guest for Radio stations throughout USA, New Zealand & Australia where the media value her expert advice and commentary on human nature, relationships and infidelity issues.
