Ian Thomas
Ian Thomas has a background in business training and the study of wildlife – and is recognised as a journalist and one of South Africa’s foremost wildlife photographers.
After graduating with a business degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, he worked as a game ranger in the African bush for eight years. During this time he found that guests' dominant request was to see lions. To satisfy his clients he set on a strategy to find lions on a daily basis.
Since then he has spent years watching and studying lions, examining why they hunt in teams when most other cats hunt alone.
He has seen the power of the pride, and how the success of a pride is related to the success of the individual lions and lionesses, and how the success of the individuals creates the success of the pride.
Ian draws a powerful analogy between business teams and prides of lions. He relates this to teamwork and other aspects of business including communication, strategy, adapting to change and setting clear goals.
He has written a book entitled The Power of the Pride based on his presentations on teamwork. He is a frequent guest on radio and television talk shows.
Ian is a powerful presenter, with a powerful message that relates to any business.
