Gregory David Roberts

Gregory David Roberts was born in Australia in the 1950’s. He was a writer and philosophy student who turned to heroin and was imprisoned as punishment for several toy gun robberies. These robberies earned him the name ‘Gentleman Bandit’.

In the early 1980’s he escaped from Victoria’s maximum security prison becoming one of Australia’s most wanted men for the next decade.

Following some outrageous adventures and escapes in New Zealand, Greg travelled to India where he set up a free health clinic, acted in Bollywood movies and worked for the Bombay mafia. He was caught in Germany in 1990 and was imprisoned and thereafter extradited to Australia.

Gregory completed his prison sentence, set up a multi-media company and is now a full time writer.

Aside from having this highly unusual background, Gregory is a gifted speaker. He is fluent in several languages and has studied many subjects including psychology and physics.

His compelling story, enriched by a profound understanding of love and forgiveness, moves and inspires all his audiences.
