Georgina Earl and Caroline Evers-Swindell
In the truly global sport of rowing, the Evers-Swindell sisters are supreme athletes. In a sport which is clearly both physically and mentally demanding, Caroline & Georgina have demonstrated their sheer excellence, recently culminating in OLYMPIC GOLD for the second time.
Arguably the world's best double sculls duo, two-time world champions, they were named the world's best female crew in 2003.
They made Kiwi history with their Gold Medal win in the Women's Double Scull in Athens and again in Beijing in August 2008. New Zealand had never previously won an Olympic medal in this event before Athens in 2004.
Together they have won back to back world titles at Serville, 2002 and Milan 2003. In 2003 they were named FISA Crew of the Year and won the Halberg Award in 2001.
