Gary McCormick
Gary McCormick is one of New Zealand’s most popular celebrities. He is a radio presenter and commentator, comic, poet, television presenter and corporate speaker. Gary is best known for his long-running documentary series ‘Heartland’.
His mind is bent in a very unusual way, which makes him useless in many fields – housework, life skills and relationships – but he is a genius nonetheless.
McCormick is what the CIA calls a 'systems analyst'. He can spot a plot a mile off and is extremely paranoid – which could qualify him as a chess grand-master and very little else.
Gary originated from Titahi Bay and used to be a gardener and surfboard manufacturer before embarking on a life of a touring and performing.
Gary spent years touring with rock bands as well as taking part in comedy tours. Gary also participated in Celebrity comedy debates.
In 1997 Gary was named New Zealand ‘Entertainer of the Year’ and to this day is one of the best and most entertaining speakers in the country.
At the beginning of 2003, Gary began co-hosting the MORE FM Christchurch breakfast show with Simon Barnett, which he continues to do.
Gary is one of the most sought after speakers and conference MC’s in New Zealand, with his own unique style.
