Gareth Kiernan has been managing director of Infometrics since 2006, having joined the company in 1999 following his graduation from the University of Canterbury with a MCom and BSc in economics. Gareth is responsible for Infometrics' economic subscription services, which include industry-specific forecasts for the building, transport, and retail sectors produced three times a year.

Within the forecast process, Gareth prepares the external markets and building and property forecasts, and has previously worked in the international and financial markets areas. He also oversees the news analysis service, providing clients with continual updates on and interpretation of the latest data from across the economy. Gareth regularly presents Infometrics' forecasts to clients, and has developed an extensive knowledge of the broader economy from his dealings with clients across the private and public sectors. Gareth has established a reputation for well-founded public comments on prospects for the economy, and the housing market in particular.
