Professor Clive Gilson holds the Chair in Human Resource Management at the Waikato Management School, University of Waikato. He earned his first degree in Business Studies from Middlesex University and his Masters and Doctoral degrees were received from the University of Warwick.

In the early seventies he worked for The Economist newspaper, spending much of his time in Europe and the USA. As an international scholar, Professor Gilson continues to teach, research and consult in Canada, the US, Australia and New Zealand. He has a prolific publication record, having authored books and numerous articles. He is the List Manager for two well established Internet Listservers, including PRIR-L Pacific Region Industrial Relations and ROT-L, Radical Organization Theory. He is also editor of the Electronic Journal of Radical Organisation Theory.

Clive is co-author (along with Mike Pratt, Kevin Roberts and Ed Weymes) of the Harper Collins' Business Book of 2000, "Peak Performance: Business Lessons from the World's Top Sports Organizations". The book tells the stories of 10 worldwide sporting organisations that have experienced unparalled long-term success. It is the result of in-depth interviews with inspirational players and details the consistent concepts that have led to their sustained success. The result is the elite theory of Peak Performing Organisations (PPO).

In their joint keynote presentations and seminars Clive Gilson and Mike Pratt explain the key concepts of PPOs which have led to the sustained success of these organisations which include Team New Zealand, The Australian Cricket Board, FC Bayern Munich, the Atlanta Braves and many more.
