Clarke Gayford
Clarke Gayford was born and raised in Gisborne, before graduating with a degree in Television from the New Zealand Broadcasting School in Christchurch.
He then went on to create the regional Dunedin Student show COW TV, which is now in its eleventh season.
As well as Television he has worked extensively on nationwide radio networks including The Edge FM breakfast team, and as a drive host on the now defunct Alt Station Channel Z FM.
Clarke was also the face of C4 Music Television, alongside Jaquie Brown and Jane Yee, presenting live and pre-recorded shows for the best part of 4 years (2003-2006)
Behind the scenes he was a founding member of the Televised Pulp Sport Comedy show, twice winning the Qantas award for Comedy of the year.
He then moved to Prime TV’s Getaway presenting travel stories from all over the world.
More recently he has moved back to radio hosting a drive show on Auckland based Electronic station George Fm. This complements his DJing which he has done throughout NZ, Australia and Europe.
He was also a top 16 finalist out over 34,000 entries for the internationally run Best Job in the World competition.
He has MCed a variety of events including NZ’s largest music festival for 5 years, the NZ bar awards for the last 3 years, Greenpeace’s Signon.org launch and the Sydney Bar awards.
Currently he is fronting a Government Funded documentary series for Prime Television called Extraordinary Kiwis which sees him traveling around NZ meeting interesting kiwis and trying on their jobs for size.
