Catherine DeVrye
Cathy DeVrye was the winner of the 1993 Australian Executive Woman of the Year award.
Cathy has an impressive business background in both the public and private sectors including a decade with IBM (which included two years in Japan) in education, communications and personnel. She was also involved in establishing the "Life! Be In It" campaign and was a member of the NSW Police Board.
She has authored many books including the best-selling 'Good Service is Good Business', 'Japan – An A-Z Guide', 'Sports Marketing' and 'The Customer Zoo'. Cathy published her memoir, 'Who Says I Can't', in 2005.
Her varied work experience has given her an understanding of today's key management and leadership issues, an insight into effective communication and incentive programmes and an appreciation of the value of investing in human capital.
Cathy is a keen sportswoman and has bicycled over the Andes and climbed 20,000 feet to the summit of Kilimanjaro in Africa. Yet she believes the greatest challenges of all are those faced in our everyday lives.
