Bryce Courtenay is one of Australia's greatest successes. Internationally acclaimed best-selling author and businessman, as a speaker and storyteller he has no equal.

Born in South Africa, he came to Australia in 1958 and became an Australian citizen a year later.

Bryce Courtenay encourages you to 'dare your genius to walk the wildest unknown way'. He has lived this philosophy, and more. During an advertising career that spanned 30 years it helped him win most of the local and international advertising awards.

His novels are also an unprecedented success, yet he continues to push the limits. At 60 he decided the most difficult thing he could do was run a 90-kilometre marathon – so he did.

His first novel The Power of One was an international best seller. Translated into 11 languages and with sales of over two million copies, the story is powerful, the imagery rich and emotive. Much more than a gripping tale, The Power of One is a compelling testimony to Bryce Courtenay's ability as a storyteller.

More best-sellers have followed with Tandia, Bryce's second novel, and__ April Fool's Day__ – the biography of Damon, Bryce's youngest son who died of medically acquired AIDS. Bryce has also published A Recipe for Dreaming. The inspirational illustrated edition of A Recipe for Dreaming appeared in 1994.

Recently Bryce worked with Ian Kennedy to produce The Power of One to One – an invaluable business textbook (and a good read!)

The Potato Factory, the first in a trilogy was released in September 1995. This is Bryce's first novel set in Australia. It is now the highest selling work of fiction in hardback ever published in Australia and was re-published five times in its first six weeks. The second in the trilogy Tommo and Hawk was released in late 1997, and the third Solomon’s Song was released in late 1999.

In 1995 Bryce was awarded the AM in the order of Australia.

Bryce Courtenay is a storyteller who weaves a powerful personal message into his corporate presentations. He asks you to remember when you lay on your back in the grass, looking at the clouds and dreaming of what you would do when you grew up. Bryce believes that if you think it, you can do it. Thousands have taken up Bryce's challenge and faced life and work with a new determination and vigour.

He speaks constantly of the need to embrace change. It is only when we embrace change in our lives that we learn the true depth of our capacity and personality. He is a provocative speaker, doesn’t pull punches and doesn’t necessarily deliver a “feel good programme”.
