Anton Oliver
Anton Oliver is an inspiration and well known Kiwi personality through his All Black career which saw him described as the heir apparent when Sean Fitzpatrick retired.
The son of former All Black, Frank Oliver, Anton‘s rugby career started at the age of 17. He has captained the New Zealand under-19 side, skippered the New Zealand Colts and has led the Highlanders. His first game as an All Black came in 1995 when Laurie Mains picked Oliver to fill in as Sean Fitzpatrick’s back up for the Bledisloe test against Australia.
Anton is known for being a first class forward, who could direct and draw cohesion from team-mates, and demonstrated excellent leadership skills.
After Rugby Anton decided to make a change and take up a new challenge in academia. He was accepted to the prestigeous Oxford University to study environmental policy – an area he is very passionate about.
Anton also has degrees in Finance, Health Science and Phys-ed and can pull from all of these areas in his insightful keynote presentations.
He has been described as “a straight-up man who speaks from his heart, with his head and does not dither round with clichés!”
From fly fishing to flying, living on a Fijian atoll to supporting his mother through Breast Cancer, Anton has a story to share with everyone and he is sure to enthrall!
