Annette Presley has become a well known face on New Zealand TV over the past few years. First as the face fronting the adverts for Slingshot, her company of five years, and then as one of the dynamic entrepreneurs in TVNZ’s Dragon’s Den.

Annette Presley made her mark in the recruitment industry, owning her own Recruitment Consultancy and earning over $300k at the age of 25.

In 1992 she and her partner moved to Australia to start up a telco, and in their garage with a big dream they embarked on a journey. After some hard times to start with they grew Call Australia to a turnover of $100 million per annum, employed over 200 staff and became one of Australia’s top 3 telecommunication service providers.

In December 1997 they sold the company and moved back to New Zealand where they started CallPlus – a New Zealand telco that has grown to become the 3rd largest Internet service provider with over 70 staff. Annette stills owns 50% shares in this company, her focused management team means her key involvement is with direction, strategy and key decisions; leaving time for her extensive charity portfolio.

Presley’s guiding maxim is, “Feel the fear and do it anyway.” She is a popular and vibrant public speaker and firmly believes “If you’re not failing, you’re not learning.
