Melissa Clark-Reynolds is widely recognised as an inspirational role model and entrepreneur.
In 1980, Melissa was the youngest woman to attend University in New Zealand. In her early 20’s, she went to the United States to attend Rutgers University in New Jersey, where she completed a combined Masters Degree in Health & Environmental Studies. She returned to New Zealand and became a sought after consultant in these fields.
Melissa established a health and safety and ACC consultancy which became New Zealand’s largest private accident compensation insurer – Fusion. Melissa was the general Manager of Fusion and in 2001 sold her interest to Southern Cross Healthcare.
Since selling her interest in Fusion, Melissa has invested in a range of businesses and specialises in tech company turnaround. She was CEO of INTAZ, a health and safety company which was sold in 2006. Following this Melissa has been Managing Director and CEO if PayGlobal Ltd until early 2007.
Melissa believes we can create things that we can barely even imagine are possible, and her success in the accident insurance industry is an example of this. She has the ability to create, motivate and build an organisation from “potential” to successful.
Melissa is passionate about entrepreneurship and represented NZ at the APEC Forum on encouraging Women Entrepreneurs. As well as being a judge for EY Entrepreneur of the Year (2000 and 2004) she is also featured in Her Business magazine's Hall of Fame and was named as one of the 150 most powerful women in NZ Business (Unlimited Magazine 2002).
She has been featured in a number of books including Success in New Zealand Business V2 (1997), A New Generation of Business Leaders (2000), Living Life Out Loud (2001) and The Kiwi Effect (2004). She has been on the cover of both Her Business and Management Magazines.
Melissa was recently chosen as one of only two New Zealanders, to train with Al Gore to present his updated Climate Project slideshow (as seen in the film ‘__An Inconvenient Truth’__) and is helping to spread his global warming messages to the masses.
Melissa is also becoming increasingly sought after for her thought provoking presentations on business sustainability which she highlights with a wide range of New Zealand examples and scenarios and glimpses into the business communities of the future.
Melissa is a self-made highly successful entrepreneur and millionaire. Her story is extremely inspirational. Her business acumen, skills, knowledge and experience have made her a popular speaker in both New Zealand and Australia on a range of business subjects, including entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability.
