Jeremy Moon
Jeremy Moon is CEO of Icebreaker and is Chairman of betterbydesign – the ‘design in business’ strategy for New Zealand.
Jeremy was 25 when he started the iconic Icebreaker outdoor clothing brand in 1995 after a chance meeting with a merino wool grower. Prior to starting Icebreaker, he completed a masters degree in marketing specialising in consumer behaviour.
Icebreaker is built from 100% pure merino wool direct from the Southern Alps of New Zealand, and is now the largest buyer of merino wool in the world. They transform about 20% of New Zealand’s entire merino wool clip into high value clothing that is sold in 1600 stores across 22 countries. Sales have increased over 800% in the last four years.
Jeremy has grown his Wellington-based team to over 70 people, and the company also has offices in Melbourne, Hamburg, Vancouver and Sun Valley, USA.
Icebreaker has a design-led culture and is a great example of a new business model based on innovation that is creating an iconic international brand for New Zealand.
