Motivational speaker Justine Troy has seen it all and if you haven't heard of the success of 42 Below Vodka you must have been living under a rock!

Initially brewed by Wellington power couple Justine and her husband Geoff in their garage, everything about this vodka was audacious, from the very notion of making high-end vodka Downunder to its shock-and-awe advertising campaigns and the fact that it would go on to beat the world's great brands in international vodka competitions. But the most remarkable thing about 42 Below was the way it stole the world's bartenders' hearts and eventually attracted the attention of liquor giant Bacardi, which paid millions to buy the brand two years ago.

Her new book 'Every Bastard Says No' is the rollicking tale of how Justine Troy, her husband Geoff and their business partners and loyal staff risked all and worked their butts off to do what New Zealanders so dream of doing but so rarely manage: build a brand that makes the world sit up and take notice. It's an inspirational business story that will appeal to entrepreneurs, business students, creatives, and everyone who loves a brave – and ultimately successful – little Kiwi battler.

These days Justine is a columnist for Metro Magazine and a best selling author. Her company 42 Below Vodka was listed on the NZX in 2003 and sold to Bacardi in 2006 for $138 million. A graduate of the London School of Journalism, Justine has written and researched documentaries for TVNZ (Tuesday Documentary) and TV3 (Inside New Zealand) including the award winning Destination Disaster – The Sinking of the Mikhail Lermontov. Justine is also a trustee for the New Zeal Foundation to assist at risk youth in South Auckland. She lives in Auckland with her husband and two sons.

Justine is a straight talker and she doesn't sugar coat her experience. She talks about her journey breaking into the market and having doors shut (i.e. the book's title) by many of the people they approached about their product.

Justine's provoking thoughts are sobering for Kiwis as many of us are happy to celebrate and rejoice in our success and global dominance (in many cases) but we might not 'get behind' the entrepreneurs or businesses before this time. She definitely leaves a lot of food for thought.
