Mark Bouris
Mark Bouris believes that all Australians deserve access to quality financial advice. To achieve this, in 2007 he founded and is the Executive Chairman of the financial services company, Yellow Brick Road Wealth Management. Yellow Brick Road offers clients a range of financial services and advice that will help them to build financial security for the future, and be accessible throughout the suburbs of Australia.
Mark entered the market with Wizard Home Loans in 1996 and turned it into a financial powerhouse. He was one of the first to take on the big banks by offering consumers something different – smarter access to better value loans. Wizard Home Loans began with just four people. By 2004, Mark had led the business to expand into Australia and New Zealand with over 250 branches and a total of 400 staff. Wizard was sold to GE in 2004.
Mark became an innovator in the securitization of Australian mortgages, through the purchasing of the company Australian Mortgage Securities. AMS became the largest single wholesale funder of Australian Home Loans. In 2006 Mark's business continued to grow and successfully launched Wizard Home Loans in India, which quickly grew to be a major lender in this market.
Mark is a respected and influential member of the community as a former trustee of Sydney's Powerhouse Museum and chair of the Federal Government's expert group on consumer protection in electronic commerce. In 2004 he was appointed Adjunct Professor (Banking & Finance and Business Law and Tax) by the University of NSW. A board member of his beloved Sydney Roosters, Mark also hosts the Channel 9 program 'The Apprentice Australia'.
He is a published author – his books are 'Wealth Wizard' and 'The Yellow Brick Road to Your Financial Security'. Mark is also a regular columnist in various publications including 'The Sunday Telegraph, First Property Buyer Magazine, Cumberland Courier' newspapers and 'Real Living Magazine'. Mark also has a weekly spot on Triple MMM radio.
Yellow Brick Road is one of the few remaining competitors to the banks and with 33 branches, the competition is only getting stronger.
