Graeme Dingle
Graeme is one of New Zealand's and the world's leading outdoor adventurers. With more than 30 years experience in outdoor activities, he has inspired, organised and led numerous expeditions; many of which have tested the very limits of the participants' endurance.
These have included many rock-climbing, mountaineering and adventuring firsts throughout the world including an 1100 km sea, mountain and river traverse from the South Island to Auckland with six convicted violent offenders; and in 1992/1993, a two-stage epic 28,000 kilometre circuit of the Arctic. He also has several Antarctic expeditions to his credit. In the 2001 / 2002 season, Graeme led an expedition, which explored new territory and climbed several unclimbed mountains.
Graeme combines his love of the outdoors and adventure with a strong commitment to social responsibility and change, and has been the impetus for many community campaigns and directives. These include his involvement as founder and Director of the Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre and Executive Director of Project K, which he established in 1994 to give young New Zealanders a combination of community skills, wilderness experiences and mentoring to prepare them for a rewarding adult life.
He is the recipient of a variety of distinguished awards, and in 2002 he was awarded the Designworks Visionary Leader Award, in the Deloitte/Management Magazine Top 200 Awards, for his work with Project K. Graeme inspires people, inspires confidence and acts on his convictions and understanding of the importance of our youth to develop a better world.
His presentations, which are both motivational and inspirational, reflect a well-balanced view of the world and the people who inhabit it. His outdoor sessions, which ensure delegates experience real problems, contain a strong focus on team building.
