Hot Licks
"Hot Licks" is a band made up of four of Auckland's best known musicians, Murray Hancox, Bruce Kerr, Keith Prictor and Dean Ruscoe.
They play a carefully chosen selection of the best (and most danceable) music from the 60s, 70s, 80s ... through to the hits of today.
Murray has toured, sung with and played keyboards with some of the greats such as Sir Cliff Richard, Don McLean, Boney M, Buddy Holly's Crickets, Gerry and the Pacemakers and countless other acts. He has toured extensively throughout the world playing on cruise ships throughout the Pacific and Mediterranean. He has appeared on numerous TV shows, has two albums to his name and has played on and produced many records for other artists.
Bruce is one of the most in-demand session musicians in Australasia appearing on many TV Shows, Albums, Jingles, Theatre Shows, and also playing live with international and local artists. He is currently working on a project with Roy Phillips from the Peddlers for a European release. He has played for Michael Barrymore, Shirley Bassey, Matt Monroe, Elaine Paige, Tim Rice, Roger Whittaker, Barry Humphries, Rolf Harris, the NZSO and the list goes on.
Keith (aka K.P) is a well respected guitarist, vocalist and arranger and has been on the Auckland scene for many years. He has arranged and sequenced many backing tracks for the live TV and Radio performances. He is the musical director for the Yandall Sisters with whom he has toured the Pacific and USA and has recently performed in Las Vegas, Hawaii, San Diego and other USA centres. Keith also plays in his blues band, the "Blue Jaffas" and has played support gigs for George Benson, Stratus Quo, Pat Boone and many others.
Dean has drummed his way into NZ Rock Music History having been drummer for the Maori Volcanics on the UK, South Pacific, US and European tours in the seventies where he worked with the late, great Billy T James. He is also a member of Hogsnort Rupert. He has been a session drummer on a number of local TV shows, recordings and jingles. He has supported of played with many artists including Sir Cliff Richard, The Beach Boys, George Benson, The Yandall Sisters and many others.
