World class Opera singer Daniel Rodriguez rose to fame after the September 11 terrorist attacks and became popularly known as the ‘singing policeman’. Since then, he has performed at the 2002 Winter Olympics, the PBS Memorial Day concert in Washington, D.C., the Tournament of Roses Parade, the 2004 Republican National Convention and President Bush’s “Celebration of Freedom” Inauguration concert, and on television’s “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “Larry King Live,” “Live with Regis and Kelly” and “Oprah,” among many other high profile events.

Singing has always been a part of Daniel’s life, at the age of 16 he presented his first recital at Carnegie Hall and a year later earned the name ‘The 17 year old Baritone’ within the industry. After starting his family he went to work as a police officer in the NYPD. He became the official singer for the NYPD Ceremonial Unit, singing at official functions and later at memorials in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.

Daniel studied for over a year with Placido Domingo in the Young Artist Program in Washington. After officially retiring from the NYPD in 2004 he has gone on to release three acclaimed albums and continues to sing on the worlds stages. A favourite in the USA, Daniel is also well loved in the Netherlands and New Zealand.
