Phillip Leishman hosts a race meeting to entertain conference delegates, launch new products, create client goodwill. Whatever the occasion the event may be tailored to suit your individual requirements.
Appointment at Ascot is a Corporate Entertainment Evening themed on horse racing. Yet there are no horses, no tracks and no racing clubs. There is, however, all the excitement, fun and flair of the most sophisticated race meeting.
You provide a list of sponsors or product names for say, four or possibly five races; the actual names of guests attending the evening, who would then become "Jockeys", "The Committee" etc. The horse and breeding names are aptly chosen, relevant to those attending – see racebook for examples. Our race caller, Alby Gain, calls an actual race and records the programme using your horse names with appropriate comments.
Details from the actual race programme of the meeting, which shows the correct distance of race, barrier position, weight and recent form guideline into your own racebook. Phillip announces the odds as they actually applied to the real race and guests are able to select a horse and place their bets using actual background information and form. Two thousand dollars of "Funny Money" (specially printed to your design) is issued to each guest for this.
"Jockeyettes" dressed in racing silks move amongst guests and take the bets for a win only. Their racing silks can be designed to meet your requirements, ie. company colours with logo, etc.
Before each race Phillip announces the field, jockeys, an update of form, tote odds and draws in personalities attending the evening. His comments and humour create a real race day atmosphere in a light-hearted, enjoyable, fast moving manner.
Following the race programme, successful guests bid at auction for a series of prizes which you provide. These can range from a bottle of wine to a television set to a Mystery Weekend.
The atmosphere, including guests standing up to cheer and urge on their "horses", can become so realistic and those attending can become so enthusiastic they really do believe they are at the races.
