Chicane - mystery entertainer
Chicane's Solo Magic Act is light-hearted and off beat. Two favourite items are "Sawing Through a Spectator" and a levitation using a volunteer from the audience. A Spectactular Double Illusion Act features his daughter Felicity.
Chicane has received numerous awards at New Zealand magic conventions and in Australia where he won Best Children's Entertainer and Best Quick Trick of the 1992 convention.
In 1995 Chicane and his daughter Felicity won Best Stage Act at the 23rd New Zealand International Magician's Convention, held in Wanganui.
In 1996 the New Zealand Variety Artists Club honoured Chicane with a SCROLL OF HONOUR for: 'Creative, inventive and professional contributions to New Zealand Magical entertainment"
During 1999 at the 25th New Zealand International Magician's Convention, Chicane achived 1st place in 3 categories: Best Effect of the Convention, Best Quick Trick and Best Caberet Act.
Magic Writer and Lecturer, Chicane is the only New Zealand magician to have lectured at the famous Hollywood Magic Castle. His first book Commercial Chicanery was published in 1992, Magic Castle Lecture Notes followed in 1993 and Out Of The Pole Vault in 1998. Ten of his original ideas have been marketed world wide.
