'Menopause the Musical' star and entertainment icon Angela Ayers brings to stage a lively personality that can entertain you with her singing voice and/or her remarkable story of staying at the top of her game for over 30 years.

The Golden girl of New Zealand television, Angela’s career took off in the early 1970’s after her regular appearances on “Happen Inn” and “Sing” saw her voted “New Zealand Queen of Television” and “Most Popular Female Artist” in 1973. By the time she reached her early 20’s Angela had 2 hit records and had become a household name.

Entering into the Australian musical theatre circuit in the 1980’s gave Angela the opportunity to undertake a string of significant roles in both local and national productions. Roles including “Anita” in Westside Story, “The Narrator” in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (Australian National Tour) __and “Sister Sarah” in __Guys and Dolls (Australian National Tour) reaffirmed Angela as a notable talent in the industry, and ensured an ongoing stream of important roles.

In 1990 Angela formed her own band ‘ Ayers and Graces’ which became one of the most sought after bands on the corporate scene in Australasia.

More recently, Angela conceived and wrote her own show 'I Can Cook Too' __which opened to packed audiences in New Zealand and Australia. Performing with legendary jazz-piano great Ray Alldridge, Ayres received rave reviews including the following from The Sun Herald (Australia) in April 1998: __“Nevermind that she can cook, this woman can really sing cabaret, Ayers has a rich and true voice, her technique is polished and her articulation is superb”.

Angela returned to New Zealand to star as Sarah McKenzie in the Musical “RUSH” __which played a highly successful season in the South Island in 1999, and is now looking forward to filming her own Television series in the year 2000.

In 2005 she landed one of the leading roles in the Brisbane production of 'Menopause the Musical'__. Following the successful Brisbane season the show moved to Auckland for a record time drawing capacity audiences and then made its way for an equally successful season in Wellington. Angela played her show-stopping role as a local housewife for over 14 months.

Angela can entertain your audiences as her 'Menopouse the Musical' character, or just as her lovely self. She can wow with her singing voice of by telling her inspirational story of staying on top of her game for so many years and through some big upsets and turmoil.
